Aim ‘N’ Shoot
Shooting as a sporting event is pursued only by a few. The Olympics and the Commonwealth Games conduct shooting events as a part of their competitions. Shooting sports may be classified into four broad groups viz. rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, pistol shooting, and the running target shoot. The ratings for such shooting competitions are based on the precise quality of marksmanship as well as the time factor. Different categories are made depending on the distance from which the shooting is executed. Shooting sports require sheer dedication and hard work to achieve the set goals. Abhinav Bhindra from India was the first Indian to win an individual gold medal for the 10m air rifle shooting event at the Olympics in the year 2008.
